Lawrence Michael Snyder, 73

Lawrence Michael Snyder, 73, of Wallace, Idaho, beloved husband, father, and grandfather, passed away peacefully at his home Nov. 20, 2025. Lawrence was born Sept. 12, 1952, in Shingleton, Mich., a son of the late Lawrence Roland and Joyce (West) Snyder.

Lawrence attended schools in the Silver Valley, obtained his GED and enlisted in the Navy immediately. He attended North Idaho College, where he earned a degree in Diesel Mechanics, and he worked as a mechanic for many years. Lawrence was also employed at the Bunker Hill Mine at the zinc plant, and in the logging and sanitation industries.

He was a U.S. Navy veteran, serving from 1971 to 1976, where he spent his time on board the USS Kitty Hawk.

He married Sandra Lewis on Feb. 18, 1975, in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho. Lawrence enjoyed being outdoors as an avid hunter and fisherman and especially enjoyed camping.

In addition to his parents, Lawrence is preceded in death by a brother and a sister. Survivors include his loving wife, Sandra Snyder of Wallace, Idaho; children Amanda (Jamin) Van Huss of Pueblo, Colo., Andrea Snyder of Wallace, Idaho, Amber (Eric) Travis of Wallace, Idaho, Lawrence Zachary Snyder of Wallace, Idaho, and Anna Snyder of Athol, Idaho. Lawrence was blessed with 28 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

A celebration of his life is being planned for a later date.
