Merla Seso Livingston, 79

Merla Seso Livingston, 79, of Cataldo, Idaho, passed away Nov. 25, 2025, at the Schneidmiller Hospice House in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho. Merla was born March 12, 1946, in Pantukan, Davao, Philippines, to Pablo and Albina Dulfo.

Merla earned her Bachelor of Science in Medical Technology from Southwestern University in Cebu, Philippines, in 1975. She immigrated to the United States in 1979 and married Don Livingston on Feb. 15, 1980. She proudly became a United States citizen March 1, 1985.

Merla worked in the medical field and for several healthcare facilities, including the Kellogg Hospital, during the period when blood lead-level testing was conducted for local children. After retiring, she remained active in the community by working at Macarty’s in Coeur d’Alene and at The Silver Needle. She also gave generously of her time as a volunteer for Senior Companions of North Idaho, providing friendship and support to those in need.

In addition to her parents, Merla was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Don Livingston; her sister, Letisia; and her brothers, Henry and Roger Dulfo.

She is survived by her companion, Joe Jenicek; her sister, Menda Madina; and her brothers, Junior Dulfo and Alex Dulfo.

A funeral mass will be celebrated Dec. 5, 2025, at 11 a.m. at St. Rita’s Catholic Church in Kellogg.
