Red Devils, Savage Heat earn All-State honors

Justice Kayser and Cam Wengert of Noxon, and Ben Aldridge and Samson Jakabosky of Hot Springs have been named to the 6-Man All-State and Northwest All-Conference 6-Man football teams.
Kayser, the Red Devils’ dynamic quarterback, and Wengert, Noxon’s bruising fullback, led the West End boys to the 6-Man playoffs, in addition to both being key defensive players for coach Lucas MacArthur’s Red Devils. Kayser and Wengert are seniors.
Also both two-way stars for their team, the Hot Springs Savage Heat, Aldridge, a junior, and Jabakosky, a senior, starred at quarterback and running back for coach Jim Lawson’s squad. Aldridge suffered a season-ending injury in a game at Lincoln in October but still impressed league coaches enough to vote for him for post season honors. In a Savage Heat season highlight, Jakabosky scored a mind-boggling seven touchdowns and rushed for a school-record 332 yards in Hot Springs’ homecoming win over Alberton in early October.
Unfortunately, the Heat were forced to cancel their last regular season game due to a lack of players created by injuries and low participation numbers.
The 6-Man All-Conference and All-State teams were selected by league coaches following the conclusion of regular season play.
