KINGSTON — Fire crews from Silver Valley Fire Rescue responded to a structure fire Sunday evening in the North Fork region of Shoshone County.
SVFR Chief Scott Dietrich said the call came in shortly after 5 p.m. reporting that a large shop near a residence was fully engulfed in flames. The shop contained several vehicles, including a tractor, two pickup trucks and a car, all of which were destroyed in the blaze.
Firefighters deployed three engines, two water tenders and multiple EMS personnel to bring the fire under control. Crews worked for more than two hours to knock down the flames and prevent the fire from spreading further. The adjacent home sustained exterior damage but was spared from major destruction.
No injuries were reported. Most emergency personnel cleared the scene by about 7:30 p.m., although one crew remained to monitor for hotspots and ensure the fire did not reignite.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation by the Idaho State Fire Marshal’s Office. Silver Valley Fire Rescue is assisting with the investigation, Dietrich said, but there is currently no timeline for when results will be released.
