Ann Koberg, 92

With deep love and sadness, the family of Ann Marie Koberg announces her passing on Nov. 28, 2025, in Ronan.

Ann was born on July 30, 1933, in Greenwood, S.D., to parents Catherine and William Greiiff, who instilled in her resilience, warmth and a generous spirit that stayed with her throughout her life.

In April 1956, Ann married Lester Koberg, and together they shared 24 years filled with love, partnership and dedication to their growing family. Lester preceded her in death in 1980, and Ann carried his memory lovingly for the rest of her life.

Ann grew up in Ronan, and although she did not graduate high school at the time, she never let go of her goals and proudly earned her GED in 1981 – an accomplishment that reflected her determination and strength of character.

Family was the center of Ann’s world. She was a devoted mother to her four sons, and her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were the light of her life. She took every opportunity to spoil her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, delivering roses on their birthdays and attending countless recitals and sports activities.

Ann was active in her community and loved to stay busy. She cherished her time working at Don Aadsen Ford, where she gladly took on any task, picking up cars, delivering parts, and even giving people rides.

Ann had a deep, abiding faith and love for her Lord. She was a long-time member of the Pablo Church of the Nazarene, where she built lasting friendships and served joyfully. She became legendary at the church for her beautifully decorated tables, bringing warmth, color, and creativity to countless gatherings and celebrations.

Ann had a generous spirit and was known far and wide for her exceptional carrot cake, meringue pies and zucchini bread. She brought desserts to every holiday and party and always had a gift to ensure her friends and family felt loved and cared for. These traditions, rich with love, will be remembered by those who loved her, and carried on for generations.

Ann is preceded in death by her husband, Lester; her sisters, Margert O’Connor, Eldora Green, Esther Morgan and Mable Greiff; and her brother, Larry Greiff. She is survived by her four sons: Don Koberg, Bill (Melodie) Koberg, Paul Koberg, and Pete (Shaunda) Koberg, brother Fred Greiff, nine grandchildren, and 10 great-grandchildren.

Ann will be remembered for her gentle heart, her generosity, her creativity, and her unwavering devotion to family, faith and community. Her legacy lives on in the many lives she touched and in the memories that are cherished by those who loved her.
