CORPS: Birthday thanks from veteran
Coeur d'Alene Press | UPDATED 3 days AGO
The U.S. Marine Corps recently celebrated its 250th Birthday of our Corps at Best Western Inn, Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, hosted by the Pappy Boyington Marine Corps League here. It was attended by upwards of 350 lively party folks. It was our largest to date.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank the Coeur d’Alene Press which has always been available to serve us. I would like to especially thank editor Bill Buley for his photos, interviews and remarks in the Press. I found it interesting when visiting with Bill as I said there would be food and a place to sit. His remarks to me: “I don’t need food or a place to sit, just point me in the right direction and I will get to work.” And he did with style, moving around and doing what he came there to do. I would like to mention Press staff Devin Weeks and Hailey Hill, who have always had their ears and arms open for the Marine Corps League.
With all this being said, on behalf of myself and the entire Pappy Boyington Marine League, a “Hearty Well Done.”
