The sophomore from Post Falls High was named West Coast Conference Setter of the Year for the second straight year as the Toreros completed an undefeated run through the conference for just the third time ever, and only the second time under the WCC's current 18-match format. Munday, who was also named first-team all-WCC, totaled 1,108 assists, 273 digs, 65 blocks (seven solo), 65 kills, and a team-high 47 service aces in 2025. She is the first player in program history to be named the WCC Setter of the Year in back-to-back seasons. Munday achieved 13 double-doubles in 2025 and had 50 or more assists in six different matches. She was named the WCC Setter of the Week four times this season.

San Diego (25-4), seeded eighth in the Nebraska quadrant of the bracket, will play Kansas State (17-9, 10-8 Big 12) in the first round of the NCAA Tournament at the Devaney Center in Lincoln, Neb., on Friday at 2:30 p.m. PST. The matchup will be streamed live on ESPN+. 

The winner will play Saturday at 5 p.m. PST vs. the winner between Nebraska (30-0), the No. 1 overall seed in the tournament, and Long Island University (20-8).

San Diego is in the tournament for the 27th time in program history and first time since 2022, when it won 28 consecutive matches and achieved a No. 2 ranking en route to the national semifinal.


Chris Irvin

Western Illinois football

Irvin, a 6-foot-3, 215 pound, senior quarterback from Lake City High, appeared in six games for the Leathernecks of Macomb, Ill., completing 59 of 120 attempts for 662 yards and five touchdowns. Irvin started against Eastern Washington on Sept. 20 in Cheney, throwing for 167 yards and two touchdowns in a 52-31 loss at Roos Field.

Central Washington basketball

Sims, a 6-foot junior forward from Post Falls High, had 15 points, nine rebounds, three assists and three blocks for the Wildcats (5-0) in a win over San Francisco State in the Lynda Goodrich Classic last Friday in Bellingham, Wash., then followed it up with 15 points, 13 rebounds and five assists in the Wildcats' (6-0) 89-62 win over UMary last Saturday.


Trinidie Nichols

Northwest Nazarene basketball

Nichols, a 5-foot-5 senior point guard from Post Falls High, leads the Division II Nighthawks of Nampa in scoring at 13.7 points per game in six games and is second on the team with 4.8 rebounds per game. Northwest Nazarene (4-2) hosts Central Washington in a Great Northwest Athletic Conference game on Saturday.
