Cow elk left to waste near Polebridge

A cow elk was shot and left to waste on private land about 2 miles south of Polebridge near the North Fork Road, state wildlife officials said Thursday.

The incident is believed to have occurred sometime between late Sunday night and early Monday morning. 

Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks wardens are seeking the public’s help in gathering information regarding the shooting. Anyone who saw suspicious activity in the North Fork area, or who has information about the potential person or persons responsible, is asked to report the information.
