Carol May Dexter

Carol May Dexter, 85, passed away on Monday, Nov. 24, 2025 in Sandpoint, Idaho. 

Private family services have been held. Carol was born in Hamilton, Montana on May 31, 1940 to Rasmus and Carrie Landa. She married Lee Dexter in 1956 at St. John’s Lutheran Church. 

She worked at Libby High School and later at the post office. She retired in 2010. Carol was a lifelong member of St. John’s Lutheran Church. 

She enjoyed square dancing, gardening, flowers, travel and family. She particularly loved family gatherings and made them joyful with lots of yummy food. 

Carol's personal warmth welcomed and comforted those around her. She was a loving mom and worked hard to take care of her family. 

She is survived by her husband Lee Dexter; two daughters Cara (Ian) Cameron of Camas, Washington and Angie (Tony) Postlethwaite of Three Forks, Montana; one son Barry (Joyce) Dexter of Coeur d’Alene, Idaho; six grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers and three sisters.
