Glenda Price, 87, of Newman Lake, Wash., passed away Nov. 23, 2025. Glenda Gail (Pruitt) Price was born Aug. 1, 1938, to Frederick M. Pruitt and Donna Norton.
She was raised by her grandparents, Amelia (Nearing) Pruitt and Frederick W. Pruitt, on the 1940 East Side of Deadwood Gulch, near Kellogg, Idaho. She worked at the Liberty Theater, where she had previously spent many happy Saturday afternoons watching Gene Autry and his horse, Champion. She graduated from Kellogg High School in 1956 and maintained lifelong friendships with her classmates.
Glenda married Gerald Price in 1958, and they had five children together. They resided in Spokane, where they had three children, then moved to a small farm in Granite, Idaho, and had two more children. Glenda was an active member of the Bonner County Dairy Wives Association.
She moved to the Spokane Valley and retired from Valley General Hospital in 2001 after 25 years as Manager of the Housekeeping Department.
Glenda enjoyed gardening, reading, spending time with her friends, listening to Elvis, collecting rocks, caring for her kitties and spending time “up the river.”
Glenda is survived by her children Julie Price of Post Falls, Jeff Price of Hayden, Amy Price of Buckley, Wash., and Paul Price of Cocolalla, her half-sister, Rochelle of McCloud, Calif., and numerous beloved nieces, nephews, cousins and grandkids. She is preceded in death by her daughter, Lori Price; her sisters, Marvel Bailey and Betty Angel; her husband, Archie Pruitt; and her parents.
Graveside services will be held at Greenwood Cemetery, Wednesday, Dec. 10, at 1 p.m., with a reception to follow at 3 p.m. at the Kellogg Senior Center.
