Thomas Thorgaard

Thomas Thorgaard, 62, a former resident of Libby, took Jesus’ hand and was welcomed into his Heavenly home, while being cared for at St. Joseph Hospital in Polson, Montana, on Nov. 25, 2025.
He was born on June 1, 1963, in Wolf Point, Montana to Robert Jens and Ima Jean (Kirkland) Thorgaard. He found his community in Elmo, Montana. He graduated from Circle High in 1981. He attended college in South Dakota.
Tom truly enjoyed being a part of Chief Cliff Fire department, EMT, and serving his community at NAPA in Polson.
Tom was preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents, beloved mother and father, brother Dale and wife Pat, grandson Donte, also his in~laws Minnie and BillyBob Boothman.
Tom is survived by his wife LaVerna, sister Anita and husband Steve Wheatly, son John, daughter Kristen, grandson Zachary John, bonus siblings Jeff and wife Jenny Dockter, Angela and husband David Harris, and several members of his wife’s family, also numerous nieces and nephews.
The last year-and-one-half was a big battle, because of that Tom spent a lot of it in Salt Lake City, Utah. He lived each day with passion and purpose. Cancer is not his story!
He loved Jesus, his family and friends.
