Law roundup: Hitting stop sign is Instagram-worthy event

Three giggling teens allegedly got out of a black Lexus sedan after hitting a stop sign, took pictures and then hit the road. Someone told the Kalispell Police Department that the sign was in the yard of a residence at the northwest corner of the intersection.
A rambunctious, smaller brown dog allegedly has a habit of running around the neighbor’s yard, chasing their cat. The neighbor wanted to start a “paper trail” about the canine trespasser with the police.
A passerby allegedly saw a man walking up on the side of the road by Woodland Park swinging a sword-like object, possibly a stick or an icicle, at vehicles. People shoveling in the area told officers they had not seen the man.
The driver of a black pickup was reportedly experiencing road rage on Main Street and followed another vehicle closely enough that the driver noticed they were gesticulating a lot.
A man reportedly became aware that a credit card had been fraudulently opened up under his name at a Utah credit union in October and the individual maxed out the $10,000 credit limit. He was advised to call the bank, cancel the card and also report the fraud to Utah police if that was where the charges were made.
A dog allegedly barked and chased a man’s wife and child. An officer drove through the area several times but couldn’t locate the dog.
Someone asked officers to check on the welfare of her friend, who was reportedly vomiting and passing out in a bathroom, unsure if she had used any substances like marijuana laced with another drug. The friend was taken to the nurse’s station.
Someone reportedly broke into a jobsite and stole tools valued at $4,384. The individual or individuals also stole workers’ personal tools.
An apartment dweller allegedly provoked their neighbors by banging on the walls and using profane language around the complex on an ongoing basis.
Officers advised the neighbor to speak to the property manager and to call the police while an alleged crime was in progress to allow for an investigation and possible charges. Officers also provided a packet on obtaining a temporary restraining order.
A woman followed up with officers on a complaint she made about a “large commercial thing” across the street that she wanted gone, but was still there. Police had stickered a notice on the “thing,” a large unattached dumpster, the previous day.
