A man reportedly had a bone to pick with leashed dogs urinating on trees on public property. He called the Kalispell Police Department, wanting to know what he could do to save the trees from being killed by dog pee. The preoccupied man also wanted to know if he could pepper-spray non-aggressive, leashed dogs that stepped “one foot” on his property. Officers counseled the man and advised him about city ordinances.

Vehicles were allegedly driving in the wrong direction in newly created lanes at an intersection and a woman wanted signs or new paint added to “better show” drivers where to go.

A man allegedly got a call from Kalispell about someone pawning a fly rod and wheel that had his name on it.

A high school student allegedly let another teen sit in their truck during lunch. Instead, the teen reportedly took the truck for a joyride, hit a fence at a location he couldn’t recall and then brought the damaged vehicle back to the school. The teen’s father, who was the registered owner, told an officer he was unsure if he wanted to press charges at the time.

Someone asked officers to check on a man who had reportedly been slumped over and twitching inside a parked car for more than six hours, concerned that he didn’t move when they passed by using a snowblower, telling officers it was cold and the vehicle was turned off. Officers called in a tow truck and the man planned to pick up the vehicle in the morning.

An activities director allegedly received second-hand information about a woman making coffee at a location and requested extra police patrols because they purportedly got a report that she was trying to break into houses.

A store manager reportedly saw an older man, holding a hanger and string, try to break into a parked silver car while on their break. They relayed to police that a customer told them the suspicious man was seen around other cars.

Officers received a later call about the same man from an employee who was allegedly told that he was sitting in people’s vehicles and harassing customers, wanting him moved along after he was kicked out earlier for stealing.
