Bonner County Daily Bee | UPDATED 19 hours, 23 minutes AGO
Robert R. “Bob” Loosemore departed this world Nov. 22, 2025, at the age of 81.
Bob was born in Spokane, Wash., on Aug. 24, 1943, to Bernard and Mildred Loosemore. Bob grew up in Spokane alongside his brothers, Bill and Jim, and his sister, Connie, eventually graduating from Gonzaga Prep.
Bob found work as a carpenter and in the lumber business throughout Eastern Washington, Montana and North Idaho before opening his own lumber and hardware store in Sandpoint, Idaho. Trader’s Building Supply became a staple in Sandpoint for decades providing basic building supplies alongside specialized hardwoods and other treasures. Anyone who ever shopped at Trader’s, and there were many, would tell you that Bob had a huge heart and an even bigger smile to share with all who crossed his path.
Bob had a passion for many things including fly fishing, boating, canoeing, skiing and, above all, flying. Bob was at his most joyous soaring over the beautiful backcountry of Idaho, Montana and Canada, often landing on remote waterways to stop and fish. Always one for adventure, Bob once flew all the way to Disneyland.
Bob is survived by his siblings, Bill, Jim and Connie; and his proudest accomplishment of all, his daughter, Kimberly.
