'Body first' studio Sportive now open in Coeur d'Alene

COEUR d’ALENE — Not everyone has heard of Brazilian lymphatic drainage, but once they try it, Sydney Ciampini with Sportive said, they never look back.
“Once you start getting it done, you don’t want to stop,” she said.
Lymphatic drainage activates the body’s lymphatic system through massage. Ciampini practices the Brazilian method, which focuses on body contouring and is firmer and more dynamic than other techniques.
The lymphatic system does not have its own “pump,” she explained, and certain lifestyle factors can slow the system and leave people feeling sluggish.
The lymphatic system plays a crucial role in the body’s immune system, hormone distribution and maintaining fluid balance.
“The lymphatic system is crucial to every part of our well-being ... this is a way to give it a really good kickstart,” Ciampini said.
The recently opened Sportive studio on Fourth and Birch streets rounds out the wellness experience by offering reformer Pilates classes that focus on proper alignment, posture, and core activation.
“They go hand in hand for that positive change in lifestyle,” she said.
Ciampini got her start by offering Brazilian lymphatic drainage from her studio in Spokane, where she noticed her books filling up with clients from North Idaho.
“I started to realize there was a bit of a gap in the market when it came to lymphatic drainage as well as an aesthetic Pilates studio like this one,” she explained.
And while lymphatic drainage remains her “bread and butter,” Ciampini is thrilled by the opportunity to bring reformer Pilates, “a beautiful complementary body service,” to Coeur d’Alene.
“We’re a body first studio,” she said.
Sportive is at 1104 N. Fourth St., Coeur d’Alene. For classes, bookings and membership information, visit sportivestudio.com.
