Carolyn Lavonne Luffman Sundh, 86
Daily Inter-Lake | UPDATED 1 day, 19 hours AGO
Carolyn passed away Dec. 4, 2025, at home with family by her side. Carolyn was born to Claude and Rose Luffman. Carolyn was joined by two siblings, Gary Luffman and Bonnie Luffman.
The family was raised in Peck, Idaho and Dent, Idaho, raising horses and cattle. Carolyn attended Orofino High School — Orofino Maniacs. Shortly after high school graduation, she met and married Alvin Sundh. Carolyn and Alvin had three children, Chuck, Tony and Tracy. The family left Orofino and moved to Thompson Falls and then onto Kalispell in 1964, which was the famous flood of 1964. The Sundh family’s trailer was pulled out of knee-deep water from Evergreen to Flathead County Fairgrounds. Eventually, the family settled in the Helena Flats area. Carolyn worked at Woolworth’s on Main Street and sold vitamins for Neolife Co. as she raised her family.
In the late 70’s Alvin and Carolyn went their separate ways. Carolyn became employed at the Kalispell Eagles Club and became manager; she spent many years doing so. She met the love of her life; Al Miller and they remained together until her death. A month before passing, the physical therapist asked her to grip his finger. She squeezed and pulled like she was milking the cows of her youth! In her final moments, it was witnessed she was tipping her head up and down, saying yes to the angels to bring her home. Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents, brother, Gary Luffman and niece, Kristin Harris.
Carolyn is survived by the love of her life, Al Miller, children, Chuck Sundh (Kay), Tony Sundh and Tracy Sundh, grandsons, Anthony Sundh and Kalvin Smith, and great-grandsons, Weston and Jackson Smith.
