Bonita "Bonnie" (Schiefelbein) Sorenson, born June 16, 1938, passed away peacefully at her beloved home, surrounded by family on Dec. 3, 2025.

Our beloved wife, mother, and grandmother passed away peacefully, leaving behind a legacy of love, steadiness, and devotion that will forever live in the hearts of all who knew her. She was the quiet center of our family — our calm, our comfort and our constant — always ready with a helping hand, a gentle word, or a warm embrace.

To her family, she was a guiding light whose patience, tenderness, and unwavering support shaped every generation. Her kindness built the foundation of our home, her strength held us together through every season, and her gentle spirit reminded us of what truly matters in life.

Her life was a testament to generosity and grace. Whether offering comfort, sharing wisdom, preparing a meal, or opening her doors to anyone who needed a place to feel loved, she gave without expectation and cared without hesitation. These were not qualities reserved for a few — they were gifts she extended to everyone around her.

She was the heart of our family, the thread that tied each of us together. She celebrated our joys as if they were her own and carried our burdens with quiet strength. Her calmness had a way of grounding us, and her presence brought a sense of peace that can never be replaced.

As we grieve her passing, we also give thanks for the countless ways she touched our lives. Her lessons — of kindness, resilience, humility, and love — will continue to guide us. Though we will miss her deeply, we find comfort in knowing her spirit and her love remain woven into our family forever.

Services will be held in Whitefish on Dec. 12 at 11 a.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints at 6330 U.S. 93 S., Whitefish, MT 59937. We welcome any friends to join the family in celebration of her beautiful life.  Austin Funeral and Cremation Services of Whitefish is caring for the family.
