Local teams take on the Hamilton Tip-Off

District 14C boys and girls basketball teams began 2025-26 season play in a big way at the Tip-Off Tournament in Hamilton last week in games played at the high school and junior high gymnasiums, alternating the use of the facilities each day.
In girls games Friday Superior defeated Philipsburg 58-36, the Hamilton JV topped St. Regis 46-34, Lincoln stopped Noxon 59-8 and Victor outscored Alberton 65-25.
In girls games Saturday, Superior won 48-40 over the Hamilton JV, Drummond triumphed 58-0 over Noxon, and Philipsburg got the best of St. Regis 46-24.
In the boy games Friday, St. Regis defeated the Hamilton JV 71-43, Superior topped Philipsburg 54-36, Alberton downed Victor 50-46 and Lincoln nudged past Noxon 49-45.
Back on court Saturday with the boys, Superior squeaked past the Hamilton JV 56-53, St. Regis defeated Philipsburg 71-34, Noxon lost 64-33 to Drummond and Alberton topped Victor 64-37.

It wasn’t originally scheduled to go down this way, but the 2026 Gary Thompson Invitational was held at River’s Bend outside of Thompson Falls May 5, and local players dotted the leader board at tourney’s end.
