The Shoshone County Courthouse has officially begun its silent auction for Christmas trees as part of the annual Festival of Trees fundraiser. All proceeds will be donated to Meals on Wheels, supporting local seniors in need.

Each custom-decorated tree has a specific theme and comes with additional perks or prizes. This year, there is a tree that includes four rounds of golf, a football party pack, games and puzzles, a pot of gold, and much more.

The auction will run until December 12th at 5:00 p.m., and a donation box is also available for those who wish to contribute directly. Last year, the auction and donations raised $6,555 for Meals on Wheels, and organizers are aiming to surpass that amount this year.

Anyone can bid on the trees.

“We hope more people will come out and place bids,” said Elections Clerk Savanna Willer, encouraging community participation in this festive and charitable event.
