KELLOGG — Sophomore Evan Vindasius hit five 3-pointers and scored 21 of his game-high 22 points in the first half as the 3A Wildcats beat the 5A Bears in the opener for both at Andrews Gymnasium.
Jonas Mordhorst scored 11 points for Moscow, which led 12-0 early in the first quarter.
“Evan really came in and gave us a huge spark,” said Kellogg coach Mike Martin, whose team rallied to cut the deficit to 18-17 after the first quarter. “We kind of settled in defensively and then blew it open in the second quarter.”
Sophomore Porter Lewis scored 22 points for Kellogg, which made 8 of 17 from the 3-point line.
Abram Godfrey scored 11 points for Moscow.

KELLOGG — Senior Andrew Lewis scored 12 points for the Wildcats in a win over the Jaguars in the Silver Valley Tournament at Andrews Gymnasium.
Senior Dalton Coburn scored nine points for Kellogg.
Sophomore Jacob Harris scored seven points for Genesis Prep.
‘We ran into a good team tonight,” first-year Genesis Prep coach Arty Warren said. “Our guys kept fighting and tried to do the right things even when the game got away from us. I was proud of how they supported each other throughout the game, and we will learn from it.”

KELLOGG — The Tigers jumped out to a 41-20 halftime lead and senior Ralli Roetcisoender scored a game-high 19 points in a win over the 3A Wildcats at Andrews Gymnasium in the Silver Valley Tournament.
“They won state (basketball) last year for a reason,” Kellogg coach Mike Martin said. “It didn’t take them very long to ditch any rust from a long football season. They shot the ball really well and got their guys free. We didn’t do enough to keep them off balance and got into some foul trouble. We just didn’t have what we needed against a team like that.”
Kendrick is 2-0. Sophomore Porter Lewis scored nine points for Kellogg.

PLUMMER — Senior Tyson Charley scored 30 points and the host Knights jumped out to a 19-point halftime lead en route to the victory over the Miners in the season and Scenic Idaho Conference opener for both teams at Ron Miller Court.
Freshman Teagan Brown added 15 points, senior Hallah Peone 14 for Lakeside.
Sophomore Cooper Miller led Wallace with 16.
Lakeside travels to Potlatch on Thursday.

WALLACE — Freshman Gretah Angle scored 15 of her gamehigh 23 points in the second half for the 3A Wildcats in a win over the 2A Miners at Kirby Krulitz Court.
Senior Dani Henrikson had 15 points and 11 rebounds for Kellogg (4-0), which outscored Wallace 35-13 in the second half.
“Gretah was a key momentum shift for our whole team,” Kellogg coach Jana Nearing said. “Dani was strong for us all game as well. We struggled getting things to fall but were able to reorganize at the half.”
Juniors Khepri Wood and Grace DeLano scored eight points each for Wallace.
Junior Jordyn Stutzke had nine rebounds for Kellogg, which competes in the O’ahu Classic next week in Honolulu.
