High School Sports Preview: A year old, a year wiser for Wallace

The Wallace Miners are coming into the 2025-26 season with a young, hungry roster and a free-flowing offensive style designed to create open looks and push the pace. Head coach Jared Young is excited about the growth and chemistry of his team.
“I’m excited to see this young team gel and work together,” Young said. “Adding Lennox and the growth of our young players, we hope to be a very competitive team and keep building the program.”
Roster Outlook
Last season, Wallace leaned heavily on Julian Davis to carry the offensive load while his younger teammates found their footing. This year, that should look a lot different.
Wallace returns key contributors in Henry Larson (G, Jr), Emmitt Myles (F, Jr), and Cooper Miller (G, Soph), while welcoming impact newcomers Lennox Radford (G, Soph) and Simon Sodbat (G, Jr).
The Miners will miss Davis, an All-League forward who averaged 20 points per game and “could do anything he wanted on the court,” according to Young.
Offensive Identity
Expect a free-flowing offense built on movement and guard play.
“Cooper Miller and Lennox Radford will be the catalyst for us,” Young explained. “They can create and make shots. With improved play from Henry ‘Hank’ Larson and the addition of Simon Sodbat, we should have some additional scoring options this year, which will make us a tough matchup.”
Areas of focus include ball handling, decision-making, and shot-making—critical for a team looking to maximize its speed and spacing.
Defensive Approach
Wallace plans to mix aggressive man-to-man defense with zone looks to keep opponents guessing.
“We need to force more turnovers and be tenacious rebounders,” Young said. “Must keep our hands up on defense and make good rotations.”
X-Factor
Ball security and rebounding will determine the Miners’ success.
“We have to rebound well, take care of the ball, and win the turnover ratio,” Young emphasized.
Key Dates and Conference Outlook
Wallace will battle league favorite Lakeside, led by Tyson Charlie and Hallah Peone, while Clark Fork could surprise with size and a strong post presence. Young hopes his squad can be the dark horse in the race for a postseason berth.

When Stanton activated his overhead lights to initiate a traffic stop, Warnock did not stop and instead continued driving at slow speeds while repeatedly changing direction before entering Interstate 90 eastbound.

Kellogg sees progress in FEMA flood map dispute
In 2020, Kellogg and neighboring municipalities sought updated river flow data from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, whose long‑term monitoring showed flood levels lower than those reflected in FEMA’s maps. Using that data, Kellogg submitted a Letter of Map Revision, or LOMR, to FEMA in early 2021, arguing that flood levels shown as 100‑year events would likely require flows closer to a 500‑year flood to reach projected elevations.
