Valerie Peila, 86, of Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, passed away at Hospice of North Idaho on Dec. 3, 2025, with her family at her side. She was born to Lois and Alvin Heinsch in Minneapolis, Minn. Upon Alvin’s passing, Lois and Valerie moved to Seattle, where Lois met and married George Cruikshank. They moved to Pinehurst, Idaho, in 1955. She graduated from Kellogg High School in 1957.
