Charlo boys show scoring punch, finish 1-1 at 13/14C Tip-Off Tournament

The Charlo Vikings opened their 2025 campaign with a dominant win and a competitive battle against a strong Seeley Swan squad at the 13/14C Tip-Off Tournament held at Hamilton High School Friday and Saturday.
Charlo 64, Victor 18
Charlo wasted no time making a statement Friday, rolling past Victor 64-18 with a fast-paced offense and aggressive defensive pressure.
Senior guard Karson Cox led all scorers with 24 points, including four makes from beyond the arc. Ranson Hout added 12, while Ecko Edwards scored 10 as the Vikings spread the floor and attacked from deep.
Charlo jumped out to an 18-3 lead after the first quarter and held Victor to single digits in every frame.
Also contributing were Kenyan DuMont (seven points), Tasker Brown (six points) as the Vikings showcased depth and athleticism throughout the lineup.
Seeley Swan 54, Charlo 42
Saturday brought a tougher challenge as Seeley Swan pulled away late for a 54-42 win.
Charlo matched the Blackhawks early behind perimeter scoring. Both Cox and DuMont knocked down a pair of threes, while Edwards drilled two more as the Vikings hit six total from a long range.
Cox again led Charlo with 16 points, with DuMont scoring 10 and Edwards adding six. Brown (four), Hout (four), and Tyler Boye (two) rounded out the scoring.
Seeley Swan countered with its own outside attack — Blake Irwin hit four threes and finished with 14 points, while Derrick Brovold scored a game-high 17.
