The open enrollment period for 2026 health insurance in Idaho ends at midnight Monday, Dec. 15.

Your Health Idaho, the state’s health insurance marketplace, is urging Idahoans not to wait to enroll in quality medical and dental coverage that begins Jan. 1, 2026. To ensure Idahoans have every opportunity to get their questions answered and enroll before the deadline, Your Health Idaho’s Customer Support Center will be open on Saturday and Sunday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

With less than a week left until the end of Open Enrollment, now is the time for Idahoans to apply for a tax credit that can lower the cost of monthly health insurance premiums, find out if they qualify for additional savings when enrolled in a Silver plan, and enroll in coverage. The tax credit estimator on YourHealthIdaho.org can quickly show Idahoans all the savings they are eligible for.

“With the tax credit changes, it is more important than ever to find a plan that meets your medical needs while also fitting within your budget,” said Pat Kelly, Executive Director of Your Health Idaho. “It would be easy to say, 'I can’t afford it,' and to go uninsured, but people who are not covered don’t magically avoid getting sick or having accidents. Having health insurance protects you when the unexpected happens.”

Your Health Idaho wants to assure Idahoans that tax credits are still available and can provide meaningful savings for eligible Idahoans. It is only the enhanced Premium Tax Credits that are expiring at the end of 2025. While Idahoans may see higher premiums due to the expiration of the enhanced tax credits and other recent federal policy changes, Your Health Idaho is committed to offering quality, comprehensive health insurance options.

“Health insurance provides access to wellness and preventive services, as well as care when you need it most. Every plan offered through Your Health Idaho covers 10 Essential Health Benefits, making your coverage even more valuable,” added Kelly.

Idahoans who are renewing their coverage through Your Health Idaho are also encouraged not to wait until the last minute to review their new 2026 plan. Coverage details and provider networks can change from year to year.

Every person’s situation is unique, which is why it’s important to shop and compare plans. Certified agents and brokers are available to help Idahoans who are unsure where to begin or have questions. Their help is at no cost, and appointments can be made directly with a local agent on yourhealthidaho.org. Idahoans must enroll in 2026 health insurance by midnight Dec. 15. Coverage for plans selected during Open Enrollment begins Jan. 1, 2026. Idahoans who miss the deadline will have to wait until next year’s open enrollment period or have a qualifying life event during the year to enroll.
