PREP BOYS BASKETBALL: Lake City bounces back, tops North Central

COEUR d’ALENE — Junior Jordan Carlson scored 15 of his 20 points in the second half, and also had five rebounds as the Lake City Timberwolves eased away from the North Central Indians of the Greater Spokane League 61-48 on Tuesday night.
Senior Josh Watson added 17 points and nine rebounds for Lake City (2-2), which had dropped its last two games.
Paxton Winey had four assists, Ian Williams three for the Timberwolves.
Terrence Bigsmoke led North Central (1-2) with 12 points, all on 3-pointers, three of them in the fourth quarter.
Lake City plays Damien on Thursday at 1 p.m. PST in the first round of the Pro Image Sports Holiday Classic at Owyhee High in Meridian.

RATHDRUM — Senior Jaron Yager totaled 18 points and eight rebounds as the host 5A Hawks held off the 3A Wildcats at Hawk Court.
Brayden Carrel added 11 points for Lakeland (3-0).
Junior Draeden Taylor scored 11 of his 17 points in the second half for Kellogg (2-2). Chuck Johnson and Evan Vindasius added 10 points each for the Wildcats.
Lakeland plays Rocky Mountain on Thursday in the first round of the Pro Image Sports Holiday Classic at Owyhee High in Meridian.
Kellogg travels to Orofino on Friday in Scenic Idaho Conference play.

SPIRIT LAKE — Senior Brant Rush hit four 3-pointers and scored 26 points as the host Tigers slipped past the Miners in nonleague play.
Max Simpson added 14 points for Timberlake (2-1).
“This was a close game all the way to the end,” first-year Timberlake coach Juston Henry said. “Our kids really dug in and had some keys stops on defense in the fourth quarter. Brant Rush really stepped up this game and had some huge shots in the fourth to give us the lead. It was great to see their energy and confidence in the final two minutes of a close game on both ends.”
Sophomore Lennox Radford hit six 3-pointers and scored a game-high 29 points for Wallace (1-3). Simon Sodbat added 15 points for the Miners, who finished with 10 3s.
On Thursday, Wallace travels to Genesis Prep, and Timberlake visits Rogers of Spokane.

Sophomore Jose Ramirez added 15 points off the bench for Lakeside (4-0, 2-0 SIC).
Teagan Brown and Braydon Greensky added 13 points each for the Knights, who return to action Dec. 18 at home vs. Timberlake.
Senior Trevor Walsh scored seven points for Genesis Prep (0-3, 0-1), which plays host to Wallace on Thursday.
