Just in time for the holiday season, the Glacier High School Wolfpack Theatre Company brings the classic tale, “It’s a Wonderful Life,” to the stage Dec. 17 and 18.

This heartwarming play invites audiences to revisit the timeless story of George Bailey and the spirit of Bedford Falls in a newly imagined stage version.

The story follows George Bailey, a man whose lifelong dreams of travel and adventure are continually set aside in service to his family and community. When a financial crisis and personal despair strike on Christmas Eve, George believes the world would be better without him — until his guardian angel, Clara, intervenes. Through an unforgettable journey into a world where George was never born, he comes to see how profoundly one life can impact countless others. His rediscovery of hope, gratitude and the love of his community remains one of the most cherished holiday narratives of all time.

“‘It’s A Wonderful Life’ is about the magnitude of each person’s life, even if they feel their life is insignificant. It is a story to prove that every human on earth is a person who matters,” said student director, Grace Miller.  “We chose this show because of its message, and we all firmly believe in it. Whether the movie gives you nostalgia, or you are seeing it for the first time, it is a story one cannot miss.”

Best known through Frank Capra’s beloved film, this adaptation is written by Philip Grecian’ and inspired by Philip Van Doren Stern’s classic tale “The Greatest Gift.”  This production is presented with the permission of The Greatest Gift Corporation.

The production was produced as part of Glacier’s Advanced Acting class where students are given the opportunity to select, cast, design, and produce a full-length play under the guidance of theatre instructor Greg Adkins. Glacier senior Grace Miller was elected by her class to direct the production.

“Being a director is simultaneously the most fun and hardest experience I’ve ever had in theatre. This show is fully at my whims for my vision, but there were also many more technical things that I was not expecting. However, I love that the biggest piece of art I’ve ever helped create will actually be a public thing. This play and this story means so much more to me now,” Miller said.

The cast: includes Fenyx Colby, Chloe Franklin, Lydia Vlass, Andrea Dorsett, Parker Scherer, Kaylin Stein, Trevor Hammer, Isabelle McKoy, Daniel Cole, Zach Nases, K. Perigen, Anndra Shumard, Lillie Groom, Naemi Creighton, Anda Wahl, Lincoln Shumard, Faith Fernandez, Tregan Blades, Brett Pilon, Mikayla Gallery and Gaia Giovannelli.

“The actors are all incredibly dedicated. We had a lot of Advanced Acting newbies this semester, and I see myself during ‘Little Women’ under Annabeth O’Shea in them," Miller said.

The technical crew includes Abigail Haley, Myla Lamson, Megan Mikelson, Amber Ripp, Autumn Bashara, Lauren Pittman, Dano Stalker, Luke Stein, Brennen Anderson, Kristen Fason, Rachel Brannan and William Holcomb.
