Coeur d’Alene Audubon is scheduled to host an eagle-watching station at Higgens Point from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday. It is billed as a chance for the community "to experience the winter gathering of bald eagles along Lake Coeur d’Alene."

Spotting scopes with stepping stools for young viewers and binoculars will be available.

Coeur d’Alene Audubon will also host Hayden Canyon Elementary third graders for an eagle-watching field trip later this month. The program introduces students to wildlife science and habitat conservation.

Last year, the organization connected with more than 1,000 community members through Eagle Watch alone. It is seeking additional volunteers who would like to help expand the educational programs into more local classrooms.
