Plans are underway for the second annual “Share the Light of Christmas” Community Giving Day, set for Saturday, Dec. 20, 2025.

The event will run from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and brings together multiple organizations across Boundary County to offer holiday support, warm clothing, food assistance and festive activities for families.

This year’s effort is a collaboration between the Boundary County Veterans Services Office, In His Image Group, Community Action Partnership, Rotary Club of Bonners Ferry, Boundary County School District and Mountain Springs Church.

The Veterans Services office will host a toy giving tree at Santa’s Workshop, where children can meet Santa Claus and select a gift. The Boundary County School District’s middle and high school students will continue their annual ham and turkey drive, collecting and distributing holiday meals.

Mountain Springs Church will provide warm coats and boots for anyone who needs them. The Rotary Club of Bonners Ferry will offer nonperishable food items, and In His Image Group will offer prayer time and fellowship opportunities. Local carolers will also travel through the South Hill neighborhood, offering music and holiday cheer. Anyone who would like to join in the caroling is welcome to do so.

Event organizers hope the Giving Day will reach households across the county.

“We want the whole Boundary County community to feel invited and included,” organizer Samantha Banuet said.

Banuet encourages residents to share event information widely and extend invitations to anyone who may benefit.
