Kudos to Choral Society, bell ringers for musical gift

“We are one … We have one hope … Peace, prosperity, and love for all mankind.” (Roger Whittaker)
The opening song at the Mission Valley Choral Society concert on Sunday, Dec. 7, was enriched by the singers performing with inclusive sign language. A 15th century medley of “Lo, How a Rose E’er Blooming” was sweetened by the dulcet tones of the Copeland Memorial Bell Ringers. Amy Grant’s “Breath of Heaven” took my breath away. “What a Wonderful World” is a favorite.
Many other lovely tunes delighted the full house at the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Polson. The “cherry on the top” was the invitation for practiced audience members to join the choir up front to sing the “Hallelujah” chorus.
What a gift to our community! The arrangements were unique, challenging and well performed. The voices blended beautifully. The bells resonated with the magical spirit of peace. Kudos to Cathy Gillhouse, Karla Gallatin, the choir, Bob Mazurek, the bell ringers, and the sponsors for gifting us with this wonderful holiday concert.
People are hungry for solace, comfort and unity. For a few sweet hours, we found it. Hallelujah. Merry Christmas. And Happy Hanukkah, Feliz Navidad, Krismasi Njema! Etc. and etc., for we are one indeed.
