Schroeder signs extension to
stay with WSU volleyball until 2029
Washington State interim athletic director Jon Haarlow announced that volleyball head coach Korey Schroeder has signed a contract extension, keeping him in Pullman through the 2029 season.
"In his two seasons serving as head coach, Korey has established himself as one of the top young volleyball coaches on the West Coast," Haarlow said. "His ability to recruit and develop top talent is evident and will be a huge asset as we embark on the new Pac-12 next season. We are fortunate to have Korey leading Cougar Volleyball for many years to come."
Schroeder was named the Washington State women’s volleyball program's 13th head coach in program history in January of 2024 after having served as an assistant coach in 2023.
Schroeder was assigned a tall task at the beginning of his tenure as head coach, taking the helm of a program with only five players committed to return for the 2024 season, while still needing to fill out his coaching staff. Not only did Schroeder get to work and rebuild the program, but he led the new-look team to its ninth-straight postseason appearance with a berth into the 2024 NIVC.
