RATHDRUM — Coeur d’Alene’s Rocco White (113 pounds), Cole Armstrong (126), Tanner George (132), Trevor Edwards (138), Dominic Prangley (144) and Brock Armstrong (190/215) went unbeaten on Wednesday in duals against the host Lakeland Hawks and Kellogg Wildcats at Lakeland High.
Coeur d’Alene beat Kellogg 67-0, then topped Lakeland 47-32.
“The Lakeland match was a great dual,” Coeur d’Alene coach Jeff Moffat said. “It was a great atmosphere and both teams battled hard. We lost a few we could have won, but so did they. It was just a real fun, competitive dual. I thought Trevor Edwards wrestled really good, and so did Rocco White. Dominic Prangley did a good job and Brock was Brock. We just need to keep plugging along. We’ve got some guys that have been waiting their turn on the mat. We’ve just got to continue to take what we’re doing to the mat. We’re really happy with the progress we’re making.”
Lake City’s James Vincent (215) and Connor Johnson (138) went unbeaten for the Timberwolves, who fell to Lakeland 51-20 and Kellogg 40-37.
“James won two matches against some really good kids,” Lake City coach Corey Owen said. “He had two really gutsy wins. Both of his matches were in the balance in the final 30 seconds, and he just had a good night for us. Connor was really solid in his matches as well.”
Carson Leonard (120), Cole Cooper (150) and Gage McWatters (175) went unbeaten for Lakeland on the night.
Coeur d’Alene and Lakeland will compete in the Interstate Classic at East Valley High in Spokane Valley on Saturday.
Lake City travels to Post Falls tonight at 6:30.
