Santa and shoppers fill downtown Bonners Ferry for Christmas events

BONNERS FERRY — The Bonners Ferry Chamber of Commerce brought Santa Claus to the downtown gazebo on Saturday, Dec. 6, setting up Christmas trees, snowmen and ornaments as a line stretched down the block to meet him.
The chamber also hosted its annual “Ladies on the Loose” event the same day, with participating businesses offering discounts and prize drawings.
Santa’s visit to the community brought hundreds of people, who waited through the afternoon to meet Santa. Dozens of families waited patiently for their turn to talk to Santa about their Christmas wishes.
During Ladies on the Loose, participants traveled in groups to several locations in downtown and greater Bonners Ferry, receiving stamps on passports created for the event. There were 13 stamping locations and participants needed to visit at least nine for a chance to win “holiday bucks,” redeemable at any participating store.
The events are held annually as part of downtown Bonners Ferry’s Christmas festivities.
