MOSES LAKE – The University of Washington Huskies soccer team (14-6-2) will be making their second College Cup appearance in five years on Friday when they face No. 16 Furman in the NCAA semifinals. The Huskies will kick off at 3 p.m.
UW enters the semifinal round after defeating No. 4 Maryland 3-1 last Friday. Maryland got on the board first in the game scoring a corning kick in the 19th minute, but the Huskies were ready to respond. In the 38th minute, Huskies player Richie Aman sent a corner kick that found the head of Osato Enabulele to tie the game at one at the end of the half.
The Huskies became dominant in the second half as they quickly took the lead with a set up from Joe Dale allowing Charlie Kosakoff to make his tenth goal of the year. Washington secured their victory with a goal in the 70th minute by Alex Hall following another assist from Aman.
This season has been very successful for the Huskies as they took second place in the Big Ten regular season standings and became the second team ever to advance to the College Cup after four road victories in the NCAA Tournament in 2025.
Washington’s opponent Furman has had a successful season too, coming into Friday’s game with a 16-1-5 record and coming off of a 1-0 win over No. 8 seed Portland in the Elite Eight. Furman has scored 50 goals on 55 assists this season while holding their opponents to only 19 goals.
Friday will be the second meeting ever between these two teams. The first matchup was back in the second round of the NCAA Tournament in 2014 where UW advanced in overtime scoring 6-5 in penalty kicks.
The Huskies have scored 48 goals in total this season and have held their opponents for 22. The Huskies have also outscored their opponents making 2.18 goals per game, 15.4 shots per game and about a 45% shot on goal percentage.
Furman has outscored their opponents 50-19 this season, making 2.27 goals per game and holding their opponents to 0.86 goals per game. They average about 14 shots per game with around a 42% shot on goal percentage.
The winner of this matchup will face either Saint Louis or NC State in the NCAA Championships on Monday at 4 p.m.

With this loss, the Warriors continue their state bid in the consolation bracket as they battle for a chance at third place. “We came out strong as we needed to, got three runs in that first inning, and we shut them down,” said Warriors head coach Faye Butler. “Then I think the nerves and all the excitement got to us, did a couple overthrows and they had a good rally on us.” The Warriors started off strong with the three runs in the bottom of the first inning to gain a substantial lead over their opponent. ACH maintained this lead until the third inning as Colton tied up the score with three runs of their own.
