Throughout the holiday season it can be hard to remember the true meaning of Christmas. We are all so busy. We have to find that perfect gift, attend that special concert, watch that favorite Christmas movie.

It can be hard to pause and remember the real reason for Christmas. Wouldn’t it be nice if we could take a little time to dwell on the reason we have hope this holiday season? The youth at my church decided that we are going to do just that — we are going to focus on sharing the reason through our Christmas pageant. This pageant is the same amazing story of Jesus’s birth but with a different focus that might intrigue you and make you think about the Christmas story in a different way. It sure has made me. The pageant for this year is called “Open the Door”, and we are extremely excited to get to share it with you.

There are some great additions to our pageant this year that will help bring the story to life. God blessed us with lighting for our scenes thanks to a generous volunteer and some wonderful sets designed especially for us by a cast member’s mom!

To start the pageant a couple from our church has lent their time and energy into helping us “make joyful noise unto the Lord” so come early for a little orchestral treat. From hand bells to a song in sign language to a Norwegian Christmas carol our pageant is packed with all sorts of wonderful things.

The best thing about the pageant according to someone from our team is, “Being able to share God’s word”.  We’ve all worked so hard to make this pageant come together and we hope that you will join us to celebrate the birth of our King and Savior.

Shows will be held at 5 p.m. on Dec. 21 and at 5 p.m. on Dec. 24. Both shows will be hosted at Christ Our Redeemer Lutheran Church.

We’d love to see you there!
