SPIRIT LAKE — Senior Payton Young scored all 12 of her points in the first quarter for the 4A Timberlake Tigers in a 51-19 win over the 2A Lakeside Knights at Timberlake High on Thursday.

Sophie Holecek, a junior who played at Coeur d’Alene High last year, had her transfer approved to Timberlake earlier on Thursday.
“Payton was just killing it from the start,” Timberlake coach Matt Miller said. “We’re hoping it’s something minor with Malia, but we’ll have to see. We played hard in the first half, but it was a little chaotic with a lot of new people on the court. We had a lot of new people playing and getting used to each other tonight. There was a lot of new tonight.”
