Robert Ernest Stemm, 86, of Pinehurst, Idaho, passed away Nov. 27, 2025, at Pinehurst Senior Community. Bob was born Jan. 22, 1939, in Wardner, Idaho, a son of Hiland and Julia (Milesi) Stemm.
Bob attended school in Kingston, Idaho, until his junior year. He graduated from Kellogg High School in 1957. He went on to study Industrial Arts at North Idaho College before being inducted into the United States Army, where he served from 1961 to 1967. During his military service, Bob was stationed in France, where he proudly served as a cook.
On July 18, 1964, Bob married Nancy Baldwin in Pinehurst, Idaho, and together they had four children: Keri, Kelli, Jerry, and Bobbie Jo. The two later divorced. On March 8, 1979, Bob married Noreen Ross in Pinehurst, Idaho, and the couple shared many wonderful years together.
Bob worked in a variety of trades throughout his life. He was employed with the U.S. Forest Service and later at the Bunker Hill Mining Company until its closure. He also worked for the Corps of Engineers, welding on several dams along the Columbia River. For the past 20 years, Bob has enjoyed spending his winters with Noreen as a snowbird in Yuma, Ariz.
A man of many interests and talents, Bob enjoyed hunting, fishing, cooking, drawing, woodworking and traveling. He attended Real Life Ministries Silver Valley and made many friendships through his church community.
In addition to his parents, Bob was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Noreen; one grandson, Corey Burkgart; and his best friend, Vern Kitchen.
Bob is survived by his children, Keri (Joe) Sonnabend of Ephrata, Wash.; Kelli (Don) Byers of Lewistown, Mont.; Jerry (Tammy) Stemm of Hauser, Idaho; Bobbie Jo (Chuck) Donnenwirth of Rose Lake, Idaho; Cindy (Bert) Burkgart of Kingston, Idaho; and Craig (Carla) Ross of Pinehurst, Idaho. He is also survived by 13 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild, all of whom he loved deeply.
A celebration of Bob’s Life will be held Dec. 13, 2025, at 1 p.m. at Real Life Ministries in Pinehurst, Idaho.
