Whitefish, Polson girls win at Frenchtown Tip-Off

FRENCHTOWN — Polson and Whitefish were the big winners among the Northwest A girls basketball teams that competed Friday in the Western A Tip-Off tournament at the Frenchtown High School gym.

Polson defeated Stevensville 55-19 and Whitefish subdued Corvallis 51-31, while the Southwest A won four of seven matchups: Frenchtown beat Bigfork 57-38; Hamilton beat Ronan 36-33; Dillon beat Columbia Falls 64-23; Lewistown beat Libby 57-13. 

Browning beat Butte Central 52-28. 

The Daily Inter Lake wasn’t able to access statistics on most of the games.

Avery Orme scored 20 points, 15 coming in the first three quarters while Whitefish built a 34-11 lead.   

Reese Hudson added eight points for the Bulldogs.
