Lake City High School graduate Brooke Erickson, a prosecutor in Milwaukee, Wis., has been awarded Rising Star Prosecutor of the Year for the state of Wisconsin.
Erickson, 29, was born and raised in Coeur d’Alene and graduated from LCHS in 2014. She obtained her law degree from Wisconsin’s Marquette University Law School in 2020.
As an assistant district attorney, Erickson handles a heavy caseload of high-level felony domestic violence and sex crimes against minors.
“In her five years as a prosecutor, Brooke has quickly risen to the roles of handling some of the most emotionally and legally sensitive cases we face,” said Erickson’s boss, Racine County District Attorney Patricia J. Hanson, who nominated Erickson for the statewide honor.
Rising Star Prosecutor of the Year Award recognizes outstanding up-and-coming prosecutors who show exceptional commitment to serving both victims and the justice system. There is only one recipient per year in the state.
Erickson is the daughter of Pam Erickson of Coeur d’Alene and Keith Erickson of Hauser.
