Rosalee “Lee” Paull Goodrich, 83, of Bellingham, Washington, passed away with her husband and family by her side on Nov. 15, 2025, at the Whatcom Hospice House in Bellingham, Washington. She was a wonderful, kind, generous mother, and a person who “adopted” many children, and will be dearly missed as the voice of reason, advice giver, moral compass, caregiver, and matriarch of our family. She expressed appreciation and gratitude for a long, full life, full of varied adventures and experiences.

Rosalee was born in Butte to Vernon Paull Senior and Rosalee Lowe Paull on Jan. 14, 1942. She attended Missoula County High School in Missoula and graduated in 1959. She completed a Bachelor of Science in Nursing at St. Patrick Hospital School of Nursing in Missoula. She worked as a nursing supervisor at Kalispell General Hospital in Kalispell. She met her husband, Larry, at a University of Montana dance in 1960 and married him in September 1961. They continued living in Montana and in the Flathead Valley, while starting a family of three children.

After moving the family to Bellingham in 1978, she worked as the chief financial officer for Goodrich and Associates for many years. After her children were grown, she went on to earn her long-term care health insurance license and started her own business. She enjoyed many activities, including Girl Scout leadership, serving on the Bellingham Yacht Club Board and on the Allied Arts Board and became an accomplished watercolor artist, receiving several awards for her unique flower paintings. She enjoyed the outdoors, including many years of sailing in Montana and in the Pacific Northwest, playing tennis, camping and hiking with her family, as well as enjoying urban outings such as ballet and Broadway performances. She traveled the world with her husband and family, including trips to Spain, Scotland, Greece, Morocco, China, Portugal, Germany, England, Iceland, Japan and Ireland. Her last years were spent traveling to see family, enjoying her extensive patio garden, hosting family gatherings and getting to know her newest great-grandson.

Lee is survived by her husband, Larry Goodrich, of 64 years; her son, Matthew Goodrich; her daughters, Julie Goodrich and Joan Goodrich Miller; brother, Vernon Paull; sisters, Ali Anderson and Sherry Stiles; her granddaughter, Brittany Phillips; grandsons Tyler Goodrich, Brennan and Zane Miller and great-grandchildren, Marcus, Kai, Sophie, Liam and Brooklyn.

A memorial service to celebrate her life will be held in the spring of 2026.

The family would like to highlight the thoughtful, kind care of the volunteers and staff at Whatcom Hospice and the employees of Visiting Angels Home Care Services of Bellingham.
