POST FALLS — The newest Local Market opens just after Christmas at Highway 41 and Hope Avenue.

The location will be the fourth of its kind in the area, locally owned and operated by Andy Singh and business partner Pasquale Mastantuono.

As the name suggests, the Local Market is designed by a local, for locals.

“We don’t want to have the reputation of being an expensive gas station,” Singh said. “We are genuinely trying to be a ‘local market.’”

In addition to grocery and convenience-store essentials, the 9,500-square-foot market will offer locally made baked goods (think doughnuts and cookies), crafts and wares from local artisans and a large selection of beer and wine.

Like other Local Markets, the new location will also serve freshly-made American fare, including burgers, pizzas and wings.

Out front, a Chevron fueling station has 16 pumps, with diesel and non-ethanol premium, as well as Diesel exhaust fluid, available at each pump.

Singh emphasized that his goal is to provide value and an “upscale feel without upscale prices.” Prices will not be marked higher than would be seen in area grocery stores.

“I think we can rival a lot of high-end places while still providing value,” he said.

Singh is no stranger to the industry. His parents purchased their first gas station and market when he was 14. He got into the business to help out his family.

“Now I want to help the community by offering better stores, better prices and a family-friendly environment,” he said.

While the Market will open just after Christmas, Singh plans on having the fueling station open a few days before the holiday.

Keep an eye out for the grand opening date. Singh plans on welcoming the community to the new location by offering gas at $1.24 a gallon, with an additional 25 cents off per gallon for those who download the Chevron app. The 25-cent-off deal is good for five fill-ups through the app.
