Coeur d'Alene Press | UPDATED 2 months, 3 weeks AGO
BOISE — Senior Connor Carver totaled 17 points, nine rebounds and five assists and the Post Falls Trojans held off the Timberline Wolves 52-50 on Saturday afternoon in the finale of their weekend road trip to the Boise area.
“Going 2-1 against three totally different teams was awesome,” Post Falls coach Jayson Ulrich said. “It was the right kind of competition we needed, the right kind of game situations we needed, and we still have room for growth.”
Senior Jaxon Lysne added 14 points, junior Cashton Bodman 10 for Post Falls (4-2), who lost 57-52 to Kuna and beat Centennial 70-64.
"Tired legs, shots were short, but they grinded it through,” Ulrich said.
It was a bit of a payback win for the Trojans, who lost to Timberline in a state play-in game last year.
Collin Morris, a 6-foot-7 junior swingman, scored 18 points for Timberline (2-4), which finished third at state.

“They’ve got at least four D-1 kids,” Lake City coach James Anderson said of the Lions, who played Sierra Canyon, the top-ranked team in the country, to a 15-point loss three weeks ago. “That’s just a great win for our team, for our program. For our guys to come back on day three and keep punching ... ”
Lake City lost Paxton Winey to a minor shoulder dislocation and Ian Williams to a hip strain, both in the second quarter. Neither returned.
“We played our entire second half without our point guards, against pressure,” Anderson said. “Jordan made some high-pressure shots, everybody rallied together, Jace Plummer hit a big 3, Josh Watson was a great captain. Jackson Anderson was our primary ballhandler, and did a fabulous job.”
Watson finished with 14 points, Anderson 10. Plummer had four assists, Winey three.
“Shoutout to Owyhee,” Anderson said. “To be able to play Damien (of La Verne, Calif.) and JSerra Catholic in Idaho is pretty cool for the kids. That was some high-level basketball.”
