Dillon Arbogast won third place at 126 pounds and Cael Crabb third at 138 to highlight Superior Bobcat efforts in the Bob Kinney Memorial wrestling tournament in Superior Saturday.
“Dillon and Cael wrestled well, came back from some tough losses and responded with some good wrestling,” Superior coach Charli Crabb said. “All the kids we had did pretty well actually, but we were missing a few guys we hope to get back soon.”
Sam Doughty and Turner Milender did not wrestle in the Kinney Memorial. Coach Crabb said Doughty, a senior who competes at 150 pounds, missed Saturday’s action due to illness while Milender, who normally goes at 175, is nursing an injury.
Asher Tarrant (132 pounds), Wade Calloway (144) and Ethan Durovey (157) wrestled the Kinney but were not able to place in the 16-team event. A few extra teams attended the meet this year due to travel restrictions and meet cancellations in other parts of the state this past weekend.
Class A teams Corvallis and Libby finished first and second in team scoring with 204.5 and 166.5 team points each, respectively, and Class B Fairfield took third with 102.
Competing in the Class C ranks currently, Superior scored 44 team points and finished 11th in team scoring.
Superior grapplers are expected to compete in the Arlee Christmas Meet, their final mat action of 2025, in Arlee Saturday.
