Lady Red Devils grow as they go
JOHN HAMILTON | Hagadone News Network | UPDATED 5 months, 3 weeks AGO
The Noxon Lady Red Devis are growing into a good team as they go, and coach Corey Brodmerkle couldn’t be prouder.
Turning in a solid performance in their latest game with Valley Christian Saturday, the Lady Devils may have lost 57-22 to the visiting Eagles from Missoula, but Brodmerkle found no fault in her charges’ efforts.
“I am very proud of how the girls played,” she said. “And every time out they play better. The future is very bright for this group.”
Brodmerkle has 13 girls, including five eighth graders, out for the basketball team this season, a marked improvement from her first two years at Noxon’s helm, she said.
Against Valley Christian, Abby Yoder led the Lady Devils in scoring with nine points, Emily Yoder and Nevaeh Christensen added four points each, Sandy Bonney and Kaylie Mercer two apiece and Brielle MacArthur one.
Noxon has two home non-conference games on tap this week hosting Lincoln Friday and Troy Saturday.
