PREP BASKETBALL: Coppinger fuels Christian Center boys' victory over NICS

POST FALLS — Cyrus Coppinger hit two of his three 3-pointers in the fourth quarter and finished with 21 points, and the Christian Center School Lions defeated the North Idaho Christian Royals 55-42 in a Mountain Christian League matchup of Hayden schools Monday at The Courts at Real Life.
JJ Vara added 14 points for Christian Center School (5-0, 3-0 MCL), which returns to action Saturday against the Kootenai Thunder at 5 p.m. at the Boys & Girls Club in Coeur d’Alene.
Jack Johnston scored 12 points for North Idaho Christian (3-2, 2-2), which plays Immaculate Conception Academy of Post Falls on Thursday at 6 p.m. at the HUB Sports Center in Liberty Lake.

POST FALLS — Senior Madison Salaiz hit four 3-pointers and scored all 12 of her points in the second half as the Royals rallied from a 12-point halftime deficit to beat the Lions in Mountain Christian League play at The Courts at Real Life.
Chelsey Cate had 16 points, 15 rebounds, five blocked shots and six steals for North Idaho Christian (3-5, 3-1 MCL). Salaiz also had six rebounds and fie assists, and Sydney Ellis had seven points, eight rebounds and six assists.
Chalyse Smith scored a game-high 18 points for Christian Center School (3-3, 2-2), which travels to Christian Heritage of Edwall, Wash., on Thursday.
North Idaho Christian plays Pullman Christian on Friday at 4:30 p.m. at The Courts at Real Life.
