Mission/Charlo and Arlee wrestlers earn podium finishes

Lake County wrestling programs were well represented Saturday at the Bob Kinney Classic, with athletes from Arlee and the Mission/Charlo cooperative turning in multiple podium finishes at Superior High School.
Arlee
Arlee’s top performance came from Dominick Haynes at 138 pounds, where he battled his way to a second-place finish and scored 19.5 team points.
Haynes opened the tournament with a bye before pinning Libby’s Maddux Stow in 1 minute, 4 seconds in the quarterfinals. In the semifinals, Haynes controlled the match against Fairfield’s Korbin Pearson, earning a technical fall with an 18–3 score late in the third period.
In the championship bout, Haynes faced Stevensville’s Benjamin White and finished runner-up after being pinned.
Mission/Charlo
The Mission/Charlo co-op produced several standout results, including a tournament championship at 190 pounds and multiple top-three finishes.
At 190, Donovan Daniels delivered a flawless run to the title, going 3–0 on the day and scoring 24 team points. Daniels advanced past Libby’s Brysen Miller by injury default in the quarterfinals, then pinned Darby’s Marco Biesoit in just 44 seconds in the semifinals. In the championship match, Daniels sealed first place with a pin over Corvallis’ Maurice Craun at 4:26.
Dakota Zeiler added a runner-up finish at 157 pounds after a dominant run to the finals. Zeiler opened with a nine-second pin over Fairfield’s Nolan DeBruycker, followed by a technical fall against Choteau’s Ryan Tallmadge. He secured a spot in the championship with a pin over Plains/Hot Springs’ Beau Crabb, before falling by decision in the title match to Fairfield’s Sloan Giles. Zeiler finished second and scored 21.5 team points.
At heavyweight, Ryan Sharbono placed third after a strong consolation run. Sharbono opened with a quick pin over Fairfield’s Sawyer Eaves, then dropped a semifinal match to Bigfork’s Holland Jantzen. He rebounded with pins over Whitefish’s Sam Akey and Eaves again in the third-place match to earn 16 team points.
Remington Wilson also reached the podium for Mission/Charlo at 103 pounds, placing third. After an early loss, Wilson responded with a decision win over teammate Marcus Fyant and capped the tournament with a pin over Libby’s Barrett Moe in the third-place match.
