Local artist Joli Johnson is featured at Colter Coffee in Kalispell this month.

Johnson has worked extensively as a commercial faux painter, muralist and seasonal window painting specialist, calling herself a “wearer of many hats.” The show focuses more on intimate expressions through acrylic paintings, works in pastels and 3D plaster wall works.

Johnson grew up in Bozeman and now operates Hidden Akers Studio in the Flathead Valley.

“My love of both nature and art grew naturally and were as tightly woven together as the canvas I now paint on,” she says on her website.

Through her studio, Johnson specializes in matching and painting natural material backgrounds, such as stone and wood to disguise electronic components in homes and businesses. She also does cabinet and furniture distressing and painting. Johnson paints murals, including works at the Pony Bar Flag in Pony, Montana and several locations in Whitefish.

Her work also includes creating custom pieces of art for clients, Johnson paints portraits of people and pets, along with fine art pieces.

Colter Coffee is located at 324 S. Main Street.
