Dorothy L. Reagan, 97
Coeur d'Alene Press | UPDATED 3 months, 3 weeks AGO
Dorothy, Dor, Mom, Grandma, Grandma Dear, GG, was born in Coeur d’Alene to Ernest and Ina McAfee on June 8, 1928, and passed away Dec. 9, 2025. She was a “true Coeur d’Alene native.”
She was one of five sisters, Alice Frost, Maxine Anderson, Mary Thornton and Blanche Burnell, all of whom preceded her in death.
Dorothy married Larry Reagan, and they raised their four children. After Larry’s passing in 1979, Dorothy began her new chapter — Duplicate Bridge (obtaining a Life Master's Level). She was a member of Avondale Golf Course and participated in the Women’s 18-hole golf league. Both with bridge and golf, Dorothy made many wonderful friends — traveling for tournaments and for pleasure.
Dorothy’s main focus was her family. Her children, Melinda (Fred) of Boise, Pam (Bob) of Coeur d'Alene, Rob (Becky) of Coeur d’Alene, and Margaret (Mike) of Coeur d’Alene, along with her beloved bonus son, Chris (Traci) of Austin, Texas, who held a very special place in her life. Her loves, grandchildren, Chris, Laura, Kelli, Bryan, Jake, Kim, Melissa, Hayden and Caroline. Of course, her great-grandchildren, Carli, Lilli, Eire, Joslyn, Johnathan, Ben and Hailey. Each and every one of her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren meant the world to Dorothy, and Dorothy meant the world to each and every one of them. Dorothy found great joy in her many nieces and nephews.
Through the years, Dorothy enjoyed teaching all the children how to play card games — not letting them win because of their age or skill level! When the kids became of age, they realized there might have been some discrepancy in play!
In lieu of flowers, the next time you tee off, play a hand of cards or sip a glass of champagne, think of Dorothy.
Mom, Grandma, Grandma Dear, GG, you will be greatly missed.
I’ll see ya later, “KID!”
As per Dorothy’s request, there will be no funeral service.
Yates Funeral Home is entrusted with the final arrangements. Please visit Dorothy's online guestbook at www.yatesfuneralhomes.com.
