A Polson man is accused of vandalizing a vehicle, causing more than $5,000 in damages. Jaiden Szandor Jacobson, 21, entered a plea of not guilty to felony criminal mischief in District Court in Polson on Dec. 11.
According to court records, on Oct. 16, officers were called to investigate a disorderly male at Polson Landing Apartments. Law enforcement arrived on the scene and identified the male as Jacobson.
The officers spoke with the property manager and occupant of the apartment where Jacobson was attempting to make contact. Officers made the decision to give Jacobson a ride home.
The property manager contacted law enforcement again about two-and-a-half hours later and indicated that Jacobson had returned and was hiding in a stairwell. The property manager said Jacobson left the building and “keyed” a Chevy pickup truck.
Officers arrived and observed that the word “cheater” was scratched into the paint of the red pickup. The cost to repair the damage was estimated at $5,581.
Judge John A. Mercer set a trial date of April 13. Jacobson remains at liberty.
