Boundary County Treasurer Jennifer Economu is reminding property owners that the deadline to pay the first half of 2025 property taxes without penalty is Saturday, Dec. 20.

Because the due date falls on a Saturday, payments will be accepted as on time through Monday, Dec. 22.

A payment drop box is available at the front of the Boundary County Courthouse for taxpayers who wish to avoid mailing costs or visiting the office in person. The drop box is monitored by 24-hour video surveillance and is collected daily. Payments deposited after 5 p.m. on the due date will be assessed late fees and applicable interest.
Cash payments must be made in person and may not be placed in the drop box.

Payments may also be mailed to: Boundary County Treasurer, P.O. Box 218, Bonners Ferry, ID 83805.

Mailed payments must be postmarked no later than Dec. 20 to avoid penalty. Taxpayers are advised that mail is not always postmarked on the day it is delivered to the post office and may request a hand stamp postmark. Post-dated checks are not accepted and will be returned.

In-person payments by cash or check are accepted at the Treasurer’s office, Room 27, Boundary County Courthouse, 6452 Kootenai St., Bonners Ferry. Office hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday. Debit and credit card payments are currently unavailable in the office.

Credit card and electronic payment options are available online and through the county’s payment processing hotline at 1833-440-4814. When calling, taxpayers should use their bill number, not their parcel number. Online payments may be made at:
boundarycountyid.org/site-page/pay-online or
client.pointandpay.net/web/boundarycountytreasurer

A convenience fee is charged by the processing company for electronic payments.

Handicap access is available at the rear of the courthouse. A phone is located at the base of the staircase to call the Treasurer’s office for assistance. 208-267-3291.
