Greenchain slam Stevi, place second at Kinney Classic

The Libby High School wrestling team’s trip south last weekend was pretty good following a dominant dual win and a second-place tournament finish.
The Greenchain smashed Stevensville, 66-16, Friday. They won four matches by fall and seven by forfeit.
After Bridger Moe (103), Levi Nick (110) and Corbin Wissenbach (118) each won by forfeit, the Greenchain scored their first win on the mat when 126-pounder Bridger Bache pinned Gavin Crain in 1:45.
Jeremiah Thomas (132) then stuck Stevensville’s Logan Nyholm in 1:04 to give Libby a 36-0 lead.
After a pair of Stevi wins, Libby won the next two matches. One came via forfeit at 150 in favor of Jackson Riddle. The second occurred when 157-pounder Tristen DeShazer decked Francesco Zamboni in 1:38.
At 175 pounds, Tanner Wolfe needed just 88 seconds to pin Mason Hill. Brysen Miller (190), Ian Thom (215) and Xavier Sweet (285) each won for Libby.
Saturday, Libby headed for Superior and the annual Bob Kinney Classic.
The Greenchain crowned four champions and placed second with 166.5 points. Their winners were Nick at 110 pounds, Bache at 118, Wolfe at 175 and Thom at 215.
Wissenbach was second at 110. Jeremiah Thomas was third at 132 and Miller third at 190
Placing fourth were Barrett Moe was fourth at 103, Maddux Stow at 138 and DeShazer at 157,
Corvallis crowned one champ and won the tourney with 204.5 points.
